Irish Setter Puppies

Hello! I would like to welcome you to the Birchvalley Irish Setter and English Springer Spaniel website.

It all began in 2001 when we purchased Jasper (Kespas Instinctive), our first Irish Setter. Later that year we thought we should get him a play mate, so we brought home Jenna, a bitch from the ENRYB line. She was to become our foundation bitch. In 2004 she had her first litter. This litter produced eight puppies from which we kept three bitches, Maddie, Ruby amd Lottie. Each of whom are very different in type and character!

My real passion, however, is for WORKING GUNDOGS and FALCONRY. So I began training one of the pups from that litter, Maddie. She showed a very natural instinct to 'hunt' and 'quarter' land at a very young age without little encouragement. This was very pleasing to see from a dog from predominantly show lines. At the same time I had the chance to purchase my first working spaniel from a very good working line.

Now nearly three years on, both dogs have continued their training and are now being reguarly worked with Falcons and Hawks.

My aim for the future is to continuously improve upon the last generation and to produce puppies of proper type, temperament and health.
